What are your headstone prices?
The cost of our headstones without any engraving runs from $995 to $1495. The base cost is on top and this is generally range from $299 to $399 depending on the stlye of base we go for. Please see our page of headstone designs for more detailed information.
How much does engraved lettering cost?
Engraving costs $299 for sandblasted text. We have no character limit for the price but we encourage a limit of around 120 characters to ensure the letters are large enough for clear and legible sandblasting.
How much do photos and artwork cost?
Laser engraved photos and coloured ceramic photos start from $299(12cm x 12cm) and artwork cost from $100 per design.
Can I pick the headstone up?
If required, you can collect the headstone from our location at 374 West Coast Road, Glen Eden, Auckland.

Can I install the headstone myself?
If it is to be installed in a public memorial garden or cemetery, only a qualified installer will be permitted to install the headstone and base. Please contact the memorial gardens or cemetery for more information on this. If it is to be installed in a private cemetery, please contact the cemetery for their preferences.
What size headstone can I purchase?
Memorial gardens and cemeteries often have size restrictions in different areas. Please contact the memorial garden or cemetery where the headstone is to be installed and check size restrictions before you make a purchase, as we cannot refund a completed stone if it is denied an installation permit due to size restrictions.

Do you have a showroom?
Our show room is located at 374 West Coast Road, Auckland. Our opening hours are 9am to 5pm weekdays and weekend by appointment. Please call first on 09 818 1652. What languages can you engrave in?
Any language for which a font is available can be engraved on our headstones.

Can you install the headstone at the cemetery for me?
We can arrange for installation for cemetery and memorial gardens in the greater Auckland area. For details outside of Auckland, please contact us at info@stoneheadstones.co.nz for more information.
How long will my order take?
Once the design for your headstone is decided upon by mutual agreement, please allow one month for completion of the headstone.

What colour lettering options do you offer?
Engraved lettering can be any colour required, with white and gold being the most commonly requested option.
What colour photo options do you offer?
Images must be black and white only as they are laser engraved into the stone itself, not printed.

How long do images or photos last for?
The image or photo is engraved into the stone with our laser technology and will last in excess of 100 years. Laser-engraved images will last far longer than printed ceramic photos and will not fade due to sunlight.
What quality photo do you need for laser engraving?
The highest quality possible is best. With a poor quality photo – out of focus, low resolution, etc – there is only so much we can do to produce a clear image and the final image may differ significantly from the original. A high quality photo can be duplicated more accurately.

What's your refund/cancellation policy?
We are unable to refund the initial deposit if cancellation is required as work will have commenced on the design by this stage.
What are your payment terms?
We require a 30% deposit to begin the design work and full payment is required prior to installation. Our prices are all GST exclusive.
